The Defence Headquarters (DHQ) has said that over 5890 Boko Haram/ISWAP insurgents and their families have so far surrendered to the Nigerian troops in the North East. Addressing a press conference in Abuja on Thursday, Acting Director, Defence Media Operations, Bernard Onyeuko, said the surrendered terrorists include their commanders and foot soldiers.

The Inspector-General of Police, Usman Baba has said that elections will be held in the South-east in 2023. Speaking at the opening of the ‘South-East 2023 Elections Security Management Workshop’ in Enugu on Saturday, Baba explained that efforts were being made to secure people’s votes.
