Country Singer Wows with Heartfelt Song in 'AGT' Early Release

America’s Got Talent has shared an early release audition ahead of next week’s new episode of Season 18. The clip features country singer Kylie Frey, who performed a heartfelt original song dedicated to her grandfather.

Kylie introduced herself to the judges by sharing that she’s from Louisiana and grew up in a rodeo family. She herself was a “rodeo queen,” explaining, “I started singing the national anthem for every rodeo that I showed up to, because I just love to sing.”

The singer also shared that she used to impersonate Simon Cowell at her birthday parties growing up. She gave the judges a little taste of her impression, which Cowell judged harshly. Then she joined her band to perform an original song.

“I wrote this song for my grandpa,” she shared. “He always told me, if I sang the national anthem for every rodeo that I showed up to, that one day, someone would ask me to sing the national anthem at the NFR, which is the Super Bowl of rodeo.”

Kylie went on to perform the touching song “Horses in Heaven,” which is about imagining what her grandpa is doing now that he’s passed away. The performance earned a standing ovation from Cowell.

The Show Returns Tuesday with New Auditions

This week, America’s Got Talent took a week off from airing new auditions, instead showing a special called “Simon’s Most Memorable Auditions.” The judge counted down his Top 16 most unforgettable auditions from both AGT and BGT.

On Tuesday, the show will return with a new episode of Season 18, as even more talented performers take the stage for the chance to move on. We still have a couple of Golden Buzzers left to see this season.
